Ekadeshma Australia

Melbourne

A brand awareness campaign for Ekadeshma, a Melbourne based children's book club and storytelling platform that promotes Nepali literature, folklore, and festivals to help young people in the Nepali diaspora stay connected to their cultural heritage. The focus was growing engagement across Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube through a more consistent, community first content strategy.

Ekadeshma had a genuinely distinctive mission: introducing children's books and storytelling by Nepali authors and illustrators to families in Australia, and building a book club framework that community groups could use to keep young people connected to their culture. What it needed was a social media presence that reflected that same warmth and community feel, and reached more Nepali Australian parents actively looking for culturally relevant content for their kids. I built a focused content strategy across Ekadeshma's three main channels. On Facebook and Instagram, this meant a steadier content calendar built around book club sessions, storytelling events, festival tie ins, and behind the scenes moments from reading kits and activities, all designed to feel like community storytelling rather than traditional marketing. On YouTube, the priority was making existing storytelling content easier to discover and more consistent in presentation, since the platform served as a home for read aloud sessions and cultural storytelling that families could revisit. Throughout the campaign, content was shaped around Ekadeshma's core audience: Nepali families in Australia looking for ways to keep their children engaged with their language, stories, and traditions. That cultural specificity, rather than broad parenting content, became the throughline of the strategy.

The campaign strengthened Ekadeshma's presence across Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, giving the organisation a more consistent and recognisable voice online. It helped connect the book club with more Nepali families in Melbourne and across Australia, supported awareness of storytelling sessions and reading kits, and reinforced Ekadeshma's position as a dedicated platform for Nepali children's literature in the Australian diaspora.
